Feel free to sub-divide categories however you wish
Bo nus for any car choice that you would still be embarrassed to be seen driving.
For me, I went with GLS 63 in the category of “gigantic SUVs.” I’m sure it’s a very, very nice place to be, but I’d still feel like an asshole in one.

How did you not go with the neon green G-Wagen?
![]() 03/26/2019 at 21:14 |

I’d probably go with a Benta yaga. And yes, I would be embarrassed, which would lead me to spec deeply tinted windows.

Honestly that’s probably my choice too. Not into SUVs , despite owning one. And if I had to get one, I would get a GLS 63 or Bentayga.
Alternate would be a Focus RS - I’ve never been a hot hatch guy.

I don’t like convertibles but I’d take a R8

Because I’d be happy to be seen in a G-Wagen that isn’t neon green.

commuter cars with thier puny little 1 liter engines like this Ford:

It’s honestly hard to pick a least favorite. Generally I hate SUVs, trucks, and subcompacts, but I have a go-to car for each that I would still be happy with. I guess the most ecclectic would be buying and building a z cars mini:
since I like sharing weird crap I like.

I’m having a hard time deciding on what class to choose, I like most cars, but I’ll pick the 4 door suv coupe category.
Given unlimited funds, the Urus seems very fun. I don’t think I’d be embarrassed to drive it.

I can’t think of a worse class than convertible crossovers:
It’s a horrible class, the best vehicle in a class of two (this and the Murano Crosscabriolet) and I will never want to drive this.

How about my least favorite variation of one of my favorite categories? I love trucks, and in fact, own one, albeit an antique. But I would be embarrased to have to go everywhere in this:

I’m kind of with you on that, but having seen it in person, I... don’t hate it. I mean, the Evoque is such a nasty little crossover anyway, but at least this one is weird. I’m sure that ten-twenty years down the line, there’ll be all sorts of blog posts about “remember that time Range Rover made a convertible?”

I’m with you on the 4-door “Coupe ” SUV. I originally though I was going to pick the BMW X6M, but the Urus is a much better option.

Unlimited? I go Rolls, it’s ridiculous .

4 door full size sedan is my least favorite...
Probably have to go with a Volvo S60 Polestar... Has some power and should keep me from getting too bored in it.

I generally don’t care for bulky SUVs, but I like these:
I’d be self-conscious in it, but not embarrassed, unless it was a bright color.
Not a fan of crossover type stuff either, but exceptions exist:

Unlimited cash, and I can only spend it on one car, and it has to be a class of car that I hate?
Welp, I guess the Rolls Cullina n, then. And I’d still be kind of embarrassed to be seen in it, because it would signal to people that I’m the sort of person with new Rolls-Royce money, but have chosen to use it for that particular new Rolls-Royce instead of, say, a Phantom or a Wraith. Or a more tasteful vintage Rolls.

I don't like sedans.

I mean, I’d be embarassed to be seen driving any car that’s less than 10 years old.

My least favourite class is CUVs... so I would go with a Tesla Model X.

Ugh l’ ll have to buy an X4, X6, GLE, GLC or Model X.

Nobody should EVER have to suffer through this god-awful excuse of a motor vehicle.
It’s a car that only the most pompous of moms would enjoy driving, let alone being seen in .

Yeah, this is me too exactly.

I don’t usually do Donk, but I would put on a fancy hat and drive this car all day . 64 Riviera, proving again that I must be getting old because I’m beginning to think Buick made the best looking cars of the 50’s and 60’s

Crossover coupes are my least favorite so...uhhh...go weird or go home?

I hate compact luxury crossovers the most. So many are so bori ng and overstyled. My pick of that litter would be:
Zero asshole factor. High quality. Good interior. Isn’t over styled and overpriced. The QX30 would probably be my second choice.

Toyota LandCruiser 70-series.
if i’m buying my least favourite car, might as well buy the best-in-class

I’d have to go with the CUV “coupe” class as least favorite. If I had unlimited funds, but had to buy one, it would probably be the new Cayenne Coupe when they come out with the Turbo S model .

A lot of crossovers in here.
Crossovers are something I have a lot of disdain for - midsize 3-row crossovers don’t do anything better than a minivan, and the smaller crossovers don’t do anything better than a hatch or a small wagon other than “being tall”.
But they’re not my least favorite class of car.
No, that would be quad cab short bed pickups. Ostensibly, they’re work vehicles... but their usability for actual work is so compromised. Sure, you can cram six people in the cab, but then you’ve eaten up most or all of the payload if it’s a half-ton. But that’s OK, the bed isn’t actually big enough for a lot of useful loads anyway... but you can’t even tow much when it’s loaded up with people, because tongue weight comes out of payload.
You can’t even have a sheet of plywood without it sticking out of the bed, something that (if you only have two occupants) you can do in a minivan.
And, too many people use this specific sub-class for... driving to the office.
So, now that I’ve put myself into this quandry... screw it, I’ll take a Rivian R1T. I’d still feel like an asshole driving way too much vehicle for my driving while simultaneously not actually being useful for real work , but I’d at least feel like less of an asshole. (I would also want to see the Tesla Pickup(s) before committing to an R1T, though.)
